2024

Hello !

I hope everyone has been having a good year so far! Classes are well underway and there are lots of good things happening at Sew Like Sarah.

NEW:

Our Introductory Pattern Making Course is running again this year!

During this course we will dive into techniques of pattern making for skirts.

Expect to learn:

  • how to create different styles of skirts from a basic block pattern.

  • garment ease, dart manipulation and seam allowance when drafting patterns in 1/3 scale.

By the end you will be able to recognise, analyse and make skirt patterns with a variety of elements; for example: a straight skirt, A-line skirt with yoke, gathered skirt, circle skirt, pockets, zips etc.

A small class of 6, these spots will fill quickly.

We will begin on Thursday 9th May, 9am - 12pm. The term will run for 8 classes on a weekly basis (16th May, 23rd May, 30th May, 6th June, 13th June, 20th June, 27th June)

The cost is $960 and includes 1 free catch-up session and a basic kit of materials and equipment so you don’t need to bring anything extra to class.

Our last class will be a free catch up on 4th July.

If you would like to transfer these skills to make a skirt in your size, we can arrange a time where we make blocks using your personal measurements.

ONGOING:

Private classes are running for two hours each from 8am-6pm on Tuesdays.

With a maximum of four in each small group class, students get plenty of time with the tutor. These sessions are 3 hours each and the times are listed on our timetable here.

Please contact me via text or email if you have any questions or want to sign up for classes. I will give you details about how to pay to secure your place.

Cheers,

Sarah
